Here is a Grenzer regiment for my Austrian army, regiment no 14 , they are a mix of a Perry metal Grenzer command and the rank and file, are you've guessed it , Wargames Atlantic Prussian reserve infanty, the army deal that keeps giving, with carved off gaiters and Perry plastic French hussars later shako which I think looks close enough?
The first of two units, it's always nice to do pink facings I think and the red cloaks and blue trousers makes a nice contrast with the Austrian line units , the black straps are also a nice change. All in all I'm pretty happy with these economy Grenzers.
All the best
Iain

Always impressed by your conversions, I have bookmarked this as a reference to give my Austrians something different ….. though my pink (GW - Emperor’s Children) is not as successful as yours as it seems to need 2 - 3 coats for decent coverage!
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm, pretty easy conversion and the pink is just my standard red mixed with white!

I would not have known they were conversions if you had not mentioned it Iain! As for the slight imperfections in their uniforms etc, life is too short to worry about such matters. I do love the brown and blue combo, which is a nice change from the usual white:).
ReplyDeleteYes ,close enough is good enough in my book and definately a nice change from white!
