The first unit of the rebased and recently acquired 17th century troops have arrived. It seems to have taken a long time but I am pushing them all along, the cavalry will be first and these are the first of the cavalry.
I also washed the figures with a little paint brush with some water and a bit of washing up liquid as they were a bit ingrained with dust,they came up rather well.
The last picture shows them in front of some of my existing troops, I think they work rather well in spite of the disparate painting, the basing ties them together I think?
September has been very busy with real life rather than wargaming content, busy at work, only daughter starting university and her bedroom getting entirely redecorated, don't worry I will let her back home,I'm not like my sister, still there is quite a queue of figures almost done and a bit of terrain ,plus I've started painting in the evening again so at some point you will see some figures I've painted but don't hold your breath!

No it's going to remain her room, it's just when we moved in it was the first room decorated, in a that will do for now,or in American:fast and dirty fashion so it needs to be brought up to the standard the rest of the house has got.

I'd say they fit in quite nicely. I was about to ask the same question Jonathan posted above - always a fine line between "making efficient use of space" and "driving away the children" ;)

Those are lovely old sculpts Iain, I recognise them but can't name them! Cleaning up old figures with brush and warm water often brings out lost detail and restores the paint job nicely.

Nice work on the re-basing Iain. I must admit I have me eye on the youngest's two rooms downstairs, perfect for two 10' by 6' foot tables and a large painting and storage area off to the side. I'm fully expecting my wife to want to either preserve it as a shrine or tell me it is time to downsize when he does move out, though.

Nice old figures Iain - I recognise them as Front Rank - an ECW range that was withdrawn years ago and no longer exists - my early ECW army was all FR as they were available locally in NZ under license - great figures!

Glad you liked them! Oh she will be back,we decorated her room first when we moved in, so it was a bit of a hasty finish,so we are upgrading it and of course consulting with her!
