We had another V&F game, this time Novarra, Swiss/Milan,well mainly Swiss versus France, who had Landsknechts as they didn't have the Swiss. Once more Des got AI to come up with a scenario and plan which we followed.
The Swiss pike kiels are hard as nails and once placed ,as per the scenario, French field artillery cant move , so their most potent weapon against the Swiss pikes is pretty much useless, the French cavalry took out the Milanese cavalry and the artillery ,then the Swiss pike munched through everything else, although the adventures crossbow men put up a surprisingly stiff defense, in the end the French cavalry got away but most of the infantry were destroyed, which is a historical result at least, still trying to work out what I could have done otherwise as the French player? What I am sure is that the French camp looks terrible and must be rectified! I have started on that. Another fun V and F game anyway, Ive got a backlog of AARs building up so probably more of those, Napoleonic, war of three kingdoms or Medieval!

An interesting scenario Iain. Do you think AI was a little too conservative in its placement of the French artillery? That must have been a little annoying for you as the French player.
