More Italian wars heavy cavalry, this time a Milanese unit, Ludovico II Sforza duke of Milan with his familiga bodyguard. Once more Perry plastic for the bodyguard, with a slightly anachronistic war of the Roses herald in Sforza colours and an even more anachronistic Henry V playing Ludavico, he was primed in the box and needed to get painted and used somehow! Ludovico II had an unfortunate experience leading his army when his Swiss started fraternising with his enemies Swiss and then most of his army ran away when the going got tough, musn't forget treachery and betrayal in Italian wars games ! They'll come in useful for Mariganno to add to shed loads of Swiss pike, flags are once more Petes flags from a condittore set plus a free download from a slightly earlier period but Im happy enough with that!
Next up, more of the same , Napoleonics or maybe an AAR, theres a few piling up?

ReplyDeleteThe Swiss sound like a handy force to have as you can you them on both sides.
Most of the units can be on most of the sides, its one of the things that makes it interesting, but yes mord Swiss is a good idea, thats why Ive started converting virtually every one of a force of 108, not such a good idea!

Another lovely unit there Iain, but old Henry is just using his family's heirloom armour, hence the anachronism;)!

More impressive troops Iain. I have to confess it's not a period I know much about but there is something rather appealing about the charge of heavily armoured knights.
