British and French Valour and Fortitude battle Napoleonic 87

 Back to some wargaming! Before I went away Des came over and we had a game of Valour and Fortitude, this time Des elected to use his British ( who now live in my shed) and I was of course the French. 

I was meant to play Valour and Fortitude the week before at the club but when we arrived the space had been double booked with the blood bank, Ian had travelled some way to have a go at Valour and Fortitude, so other Ian offered to host at his, Ian 1 plays 40k, Lord of the Rings, bolt action mostly, but fancied having a go, he is also the son of John my opponent at the club for the last few years who has sadly passed away. Ian 2 is also interested but wont play French, we had a bit of a learning game and it was pretty even Austrian versus French battle when we called it honours even and theres a bit of interest in the game from a few other members at the club.

I retained the two brigades from the draw against Ian, first one three battalions of French line infantry, a unit of field artillery, a unit of cuirassiers and a unit of dragoons.

We had three built up areas as objectives, I managed to grab one, we had a tussle outside one on the opposite flank where Des lost a cavalry unit but Des managed to grab it, I tried to get to the remaining objective but Des got a detachment of rifles into it. In the meantime Des lost more cavalry as did I, he played a card which meant if he captured the objective I was holding it would be worth double points, I managed to make the rifles shaken but they didnt have to take a valour test and Des captured  the objective that I held so a comprehensive victory for the Brits, even though it went down to the last go, great fun and more of a game than last time.

I was mostly playing catch up and having the middle objective between my two brigades didnt help, great fun none the less!

Ive finished off flocking the units painted in Bristol and Jamaica, only taken a year, the Austrians also have their flags, unfortunately the French will have to wait!

Next up more AARs, some Napoleonics, Romans and maybe Great Italian Wars?
