Lasalle's Aide de Camp Napoleonic 77

I've already painted Lasalle some time ago but the aim was always to add another figure to his command base, well make the base bigger and add a figure. I've finally got around to doing that. The Aide was one of the big batch of second hand Perry chasseurs a cheval of the Imperial Guard, so like another one of his surplus comrades he has found a different role as an Aide de camp with the addition of a plastic hussar dolman,a plastic handle for his sheathed sword and a replacement hand as I removed the sword hand. Not exactly accurate but close enough for jazz, he's a nice figure, who's been haunting my painting table for some time so nice to push him through and it means I'm up to 377 painted Napoleonic figures, one more unit and I'm scott free! Well, hit my Napoleonic target anyway and I've got three Austrian cavalry units in varying stages of completeness so should get there!

More Napoleonics. More terrain, Napoleonic terrain? Dark age figures, Dark age terrain? It's all fun and games!

French support wagons Napoleonic 76

Here's a couple of  mdf wagons from warbase, inexpensive, really well designed, they go together very nicely.  I've based them so that I can use the spare draft teams to pull them or leave them as objectives in a camp for instance.

Sprayed green ,wash of agrax earthshade, black here and there, bit of metal and basing, job done.

In amongst all those holiday snaps on your blogs, here's Toby on a recent local walk , it's down by the New River,  which is only relatively new as I think it was excavated in 1605 to provide water to London,  ends up at Islington green, there's a statue to the chap who instigated it there. Anyway , a nice walk at my end!

More wagons, terrain and  Napoleonic troops waiting for an outing after this!

Austrian hussar regiment Hessen Homberg Napoleonic 75

  •  Perry plastic Austrian hussars, lovely figures and of course it's mandatory to do the Hessen Homberg regiment for your first unit! I know boring, but what can you do? This will be my only proper Austrian hussars, the other three units are two units of  left over early British light dragoons press ganged into the Austrian army, (their horses going to the Austrian dragoons, their later comrades becoming Austrian Uhlans)and one made up of a couple of spare Austrians, some French hussars and some more of the lost early British light dragoons all mixed together on either Prince August home cast horses with Perry plastic heads, (the frankenstein hussars, ) or Warlord ECW plastic horses. But that's in the future, here's the real deal, well as real as I  get! I found some geriatric GW elemental green that still seemed to work, contributing to a lovely light operatic costume , sorry  uniform.

 They're a bit messy, but I think they'll do!

The future holds more Austrian cavalry     (as I  might have just suggested!) fighting it out with terrain it seems at the moment  , I've worked out I've still got a years worth of Austrians to paint at my current level plus a years worth of Spanish, another one of Prussian and one more of Bavarian /Polish plus six months of French , solid painting without doing anything else ( all Napoleonic) ,so add another year for Early Imperial Romans  and Celts and say one each for remaining Great Italian Wars and one for Hundred years war, even without dark ages and terrain or bolt action it would mean I'd have to live four years longer than either of my brothers , morbid miniatures, memento mori or just being realistic? Better get my finger out ! Anyway more varied Austrians and terrain coming up at some point, oh and current Napoleonic figures total for the year is 385, one more unit and an individual should get me over the line, I'll see what I can do!

All the best
