French line infantry regiment no 47 Napoleonic 36

 Final Perry plastic French line infantry regiment of this batch, still lot's more to go, which is good as I find them strangely relaxing (!) This time it's regiment no 47 with the last if the Victrix flags, I'll have to move onto something else for the rest!









The eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed I've press ganged a spare Warlord figure in amongst his Perry  chums he was free with wargames illustrated, the rest of his sprue are spread around various other battalions. 
Working on some Victrix infantry and of course progress continues with my 17th century artillery

    Wonderful looking unit Iain, I have to confess I have no idea which the Warlord figure is, but it must tie in well with the other models. Looking forward to seeing the artillery you've been working on since the WIP photos you showed.

      Thanks Dave, he's about the only thing that's different from the other unit apart from the flags, the guns, big , medium and small are coming along, just a lot of them and a lot of crew!

    Iain, another fine unit, your rate of output is noteworthy. Harder for me to appreciate …… is that you find it relaxing! 😀 never-the-less, after a long pause of painting, you have encouraged me to get the stay wet palette out - a life saver in the current heat wave! and get kick started again.

    I have tried hard to spot the Warlord figure …l can’t, so I will have a stab at the bloke next to the flag (even though I am fairly sure it is not!).

      Thanks Norm, still trundling along pretty much every day as a de stress after work, your close but it's actually the chap next to the sapper, he's carrying his musket slightly differently and wearing breeches not trousers!

    Very nice and I can understand what you mean by relaxing especially if you get in a rhythm and can switch the brain off for a while.

    It is impressive how much you paint and that it can still be relaxing. My output is about a fifth of yours, but it relaxes me.

    I can get behind painting being relaxing. But no one is gonna be able to spot the warlord figure. Lol. 😀

    More good looking figures Iain and I often mix and match manufacturers and metal/plastics. As for painting being relaxing, often it is but when you have the fine detail to do and the paint brush either refuses to release paint on to the figure or the opposite, drops a blob when you wanted a fine line then relaxing is not an accurate description of my mood! I think that challenging probably describes my sentiment towards painting with a huge feeling of accomplishment when I find the finished figure(s) acceptable. Then along comes the next issue of Wargames Illustrated or WSS and my figures look woeful in comparison to those in print.

    Blimey. You seem to be churning these out, Iain. I keep seeing your Nap posts and thinking I need to paint some of my Victrix/Warlord/Perrys backlog. But I always find something else on my painting table to dabble with instead. Hopefully one day I'll settle down and start hitting my French and Austrians with some paint.

    "The Eagle-eyed among you ", well that means I have no chance at all inspotting the 'rogue' interloper, but it doesn't matter it's another great unit.

    Great work Iain! Napoleonics always reward lots of attention and these certainly have that. The flags set them off really well too.
