Venetian command Italian wars 20

Here is another Italian wars post, it's a pair of Perry figures a metal late mediaeval mounted commander based on Paolo Uccello's painting of the battle of San Romano in 1432,so not strictly kosher for the late 15th,early 16th but it's a lovely figure so I'm using him! The flag bearer is a plastic figure from the mercenaries set,a great kit,my favourite set to be honest and the flag is a blown up copy from the Perry box to bring it more into keeping with my other flags.

Well there we go, small post but they can't all have 108 figures in them and I'm pretty happy with them,I'm bashing together warlord landsknechts and perry mercenaries to give me a nice mixed pike block and I have some foundry and artizan landsknechts undercoated, even if I should be doing mounted crossbow men and jinets!

A mix of gendarmes Italian wars 19

Here we have a unit of gendarmes that was started during the previous analogue challenge and have sat forlorn half finished for over a year. Well I've finally finished them!
 They're a right dog's dinner of a unit, two old glory, two Essex, a plastic Perry and three unknown eBay purchases.

I think they've turned out alright in the end and I'm happy to add them to the other five units of gendarmes I have . I'm prepping up four more units ,three Perry plastic and a steel fist I treated myself to at salute.

In the pipeline is some Italian wars command and another artillery piece or two and more landsknechts.

 I could still do with doing some mounted crossbow men and genitors/stradiots, I just keep going back to landsknechts, gendarmes and artillery pieces!

Never mind the Soviets here's my Swiss Kiel Italian wars 18

It's been over a month since my last post (should I be saying bless me father,it kind of sounds like that?) Anyway I've been plugging away with 108 old glory Italian wars Swiss and I've finally finished them. There hasn't been a drop in productivity since the challenge, it's just I decided to do too many in one go!
Really there are three units of 36pikes, but of course they can be combined into one big kiel.

These old glory figures were great fun to paint, a pack of armoured,a pack of unarmoured pike ,some command and some halberdiers that I've given pikes to.

I'm finishing up some gendarmes that were half finished at the end of the previous challenge and have watched everything else get painted, I've got an Italian wars gun crew, I just need to paint the gun(which I don't really need) The great thing is that these can be French, Swiss, Italian or indeed Scottish(Im tempted by Flodden to be honest, just need Highlanders/Irish) lot's of landsknechts primed and I picked up some steel fist gendarmes oh and more artillery, so no let up on the rennaisance front then.

WW2 soviets 7

Here is the last of my soviets, I have more to make up but for now I think I have enough for a force so I'm going to move on to my Italian wars forces and maybe some napoleonics.

And all together , they're a mix of warlord, Black tree design and PSC. 

This should work out at 95 points and take me past 1000 points, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get anything else finished but I'll have a go!

Ww2 soviets 6

Here are my latest bunch of soviets! A T34/85 and a BT 10 armoured car, both from warlord and three lledo trucks repainted, the trucks cost 11p each so I'm happy with the price and I think they're good enough.

So that gives me 80 points I think, there's one more post of soviets left then I've got to paint some pikemen! I really like the 1930s armoured car and sorry Phil, more T34s!

WW2 SOVIETS 5

Here are the latest batch of soviets, I keep thinking I'll finish more this week and then life gets in the way but at least I've finished some!

So 14 28mm infantry men a lend lease bren gun carrier with two crew and two passengers, I made a right mess of assembling the bren gun carrier, it was my first plastic vehicle in about 35 years I had to stick an additional piece of plastic to cover up a gap that shouldn't have been there, still I think it's good enough although looking at it now I could do with maybe adding a tiny bit of snow on the carrier, not now though!

 Mostly PSC, some with warlord heads and a couple of warlord plastics. 

I think that adds up to 100 points, with a bit of luck and a fair wind I should make 1000 points by challenge end.

WW2 soviets 4

This week has been half term, valentines, a trip away, a 20th anniversary and a trip to Camden to see the Damned .
 There hasn't been that much painting going on to be honest.
I have managed to finish up a few soviets which should take me past my 750 target, which is great!
Here we have the final spotter three two man support teams and some rank and file, once more 28mm warlord and PSC.

So I think this makes 55, next week more soviets but I will be starting something from an earlier period that I hope to finish in the next four weeks.
