Father's Day/ new project

I got these for Father's Day, lucky me!
The start of my Flodden project. I already have Swiss/French pike to stand in with new flags for lowland Scots. The English will be WOTR bill and bow with landsknecht command ( and maybe one or two more period specific English) The rest of the Highlanders will be made up from Perry Ansar, bill and bow/ mercenaries, Agincourt French infantry, Gripping beast Saxon Theigns and maybe their dark age infantry too! That's a lot of plastic!
We also spent Sunday afternoon painting terrain which was great fun!

All the best Iain

  1. Got to love those Perry black boxes Iain! I ended up with a pile of 30 of them, had I been in UK I would have liked to have returned them for re use, went into recycling anyway. Lovely looking figure group, it's hard to beat Perry for casting quality and detail. Look forward to seeing this project develop.

  15. Fireymonkeyboy, you don't want to know anything about Flodden - it was a disaster - if you are a Scot like me - and don't mention bloody Cromwell and Dunbar either! Great looking figures Iain and you are very lucky - I still get more traditional Fathers Day gifts - or I have the pleasure of shelling out $200 to take my family plus sons girlfriend out for dinner - I could think of a lot of better things to spend that money on!

    1. Yes, you have to say an underdog victory, the Scot's had a bigger up to the minute army trained in the latest tactics led by their youthful dynamic, every inch a Rennaisance king against local levies fighting with the techniques of the previous century led by a noble associated with the previous disgraced king, surely there could only be one result? I am lucky Keith with my presents, yours sound a bit rough!
