First post of Italian wars figures that haven't been painted during the challenge! Four foundry guns and crew and two guns crewed by Old glory with the guns supplied by Irregular and Warrior, the Warrior gun is the old fashioned iron gun and not the up to date bronze one's, I have to say I rather like it.
More Italian wars in the works, possibly some napoleonic and a couple of books.
All the best

Wow! This is quite an impressive artillery arsenal, Iain! The variety of guns is terrific! The bases seem quite deep. What are the dimensions? Very impressive!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan, and I've got at least 7 more! The base size is 120 x 90, I might drop back and add some barrels and maybe a handcart or two but I think for now they are good enough to be getting on with.

Double wow! Seven more guns? That is an enormous number of guns. How many pike blocks will you have to support such an arsenal? Your project is shaping up to result in a massive project. I enjoy seeing the gun variety.
DeleteI know I think I've got carried away! I'm collecting for both sides and some of the guns are a bit smaller. I will have 4 colunas of Spanish, painted awaiting basing that's 4x36 so 148,108 Swiss/french/Italian pike painted ready to base, another 108 prepping in the painting que, some more in the pre que pile and 80+landsknecht pike painted and virtually based plus another 100 +to paint plus light cavalry, it's easily my biggest project!

I wish we were neighbors. We could have some epic Italian Wars battles with our collections.
DeleteTop notch painting and basing, excellent work sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, I'm happy with the basing now.

I second Phil on both the painting and basing, superb.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, I think I'm getting there on the basing front at last!

These are great - I love the mix of different styles of gun
ReplyDeleteThanks Oli, the next 6 guns are even more varied, but it will be pike blocks before then.
