Here is regiment no 57 Graf Josef Colloredo they are Victrix Austrians, primed grey , white slapped on them black ink for helmets boots etc, stripey flagpole , nice bright magenta facing colour, bit of sharpie work on the helmets! This is the first battalion with the colonels colour, the last Austrian infantry for a while. I've still got another combined Hungarian grenadier unit ( someone's got to shoot Lasalle after all!) and a bohemian landwehr unit (inspired by Phil C's lovely unit on Toy Soldiers studio, go and check them out) to build and prime. Hungarians and Grenzers are primed and still to come so more diverse elements of the empire rather than standard German units, this takes me up to 361 painted Napoleonic figures so far this year, so not far off my target.
Still to come, I've partly painted Austrian hussars and two dragoon units, various late Roman/Romano British units half done which would be good to clear from the painting tray, they've actually been moved to their own tray, I'm having trouble with their shields to be honest, it does seem odd to seek refuge in reassuring Napoleonic units but there you go!
All the best
Iain
Lovely work. You’ve even let them out for a stroll in the garden!
ReplyDeleteCracking looking regiment, the facing colour is particularly nice, great contrast with the white uniforms.
ReplyDeleteContinued solid progress on the Austrian Front. Your Austrian Army must be massive by now.
ReplyDeleteThe Austrians always look good in those helmets Iain, and as Donnie says, the magenta facing colour really pops!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Iain and the magenta facings looks great. It's not often that one gets to use a bit of magenta. The total so far this year is looking good too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat brushwork, lovely unit, those facings do pop. A good extended project.
ReplyDeleteGreat work again sir!
ReplyDeleteSupet regiment Iain. I'm these boys have earned some special honour by having the lights behind them. Cabaret time later perhaps?
ReplyDeleteSplendid work Iain and nice to see them getting their moment in the sun as it were:)!
ReplyDeleteGood lord mate - your Nap's collection must take up quite the storage space by now?
