The landsknecht officer is Foundry as is the brother although he is from the conquistadors range. The body of the standard bearer was part of a warlord plastics landsknecht sprue that Norm ( from Battlefields and Warriors blog) kindly donated to me ,his head is from the Perry plastic mercenaries box,his arms from the WOTR men at arms box the flag is of course from the excellent Pete's flags and I have as is clearly traditional painted the edges, it really helps!
The unnecessary guns are both from Foundry and the crew are from Old Glory. I say unnecessary as I have (as illustrated below) over invested in artillery pieces for this period and have over 3'0" of these. These are for the early period so at least I can use them for the WOTR, I still have crew and guns for 3 more guns but I was thinking of building 3 or 4 of the war carts for Ravenna. At least I can now use them in siege warfare!
Anyway in addition is another brother who was going to go on another command stand but I figured that was overkill so he's the start of a Monks stand for Dux Bellorum.
Oh and as nothing exists unless we have a image of it (thinking of you Jonathan!),here is some shots of the game, no AAR as I was too busy remembering the rules!
The last picture shows the command stand that has been replaced!

It all looks lovely together, big pike units do look the business. Like the space given to the artillery gun and crew and the animation of the crew. Especially like the head swap, arm swap thing - delightfully old school :-)

It's all been said already above Iain, but I'll just chuck in one more superlative ......astonishing! The armies are so colourful and packed with character and animation. I ask myself why it's the one period I have never done. The huge pike blocks are quite something.

I like the idea of having a 'reserve' of artillery. Thinking of uses for the excess though is good planning - you could alos make a few 'wrecked ines maybe ?

Incredibly lovely pics. First of all, I have an objection -there is no such thing as unnecesary models! Specially when they look as beautiful as these guns. All the minis here are great, but the in game pics are absolutely delightful.

Beautiful Iain, got to love this period, while researching my 100years war Chevaliers and Écuyers I have come across quite a number who either fought in the Italian wars or their sons did, if you need some French names let me know I have quite a few.

Thanks Matt! Yes it's a great period for spectacle! I know there is a fair bit of continuity of families right through to the revolution, a much higher proportion being noble in France than in Britain say. Hope that easing out of lockdown is alright, it sounds like it's working further down the Loire where my sister lives!
