A couple of Valour and Fortitude games Napoleonic 90

I've had a couple of games at the club, spreading the valour and fortitude good news, another game with one of the Ians and one with Keith. I was playing the Austrians both times.

So this was a pretty even game up until Ian played an additional move card which meant he caught my cavalry unprepared and steamrollered my left flank, a French victory, so a pretty good training game for Ian. Next club I took much the same for the French but swapped brigades for the dragoons to support the cuirassiers and traded in the chevaulegers for a unit of hussars and replacing one of the landwehr units with a line infantry unit. We set up in a similar fashion, although this time with a hill in the middle, Keith procceded to set up behind the hill and I had to remind him he was French and not British and needed to get stuck in with his attack columns, all went well , certainly for Keith whos die throwing was  enough to win the game helped by me failing valour and fortitude tests! I enjoyed both games thoroughly! Always good to get toys on tables.

Probably should have split this post in two, too many photos, well done for getting this far.

Next up, more Italian wars cavalry or  another V&F  AAR, theres some Napoleonic hussars making progress too, its all good fun!

All the best

Iain

  1. Fantastic collection of excellent photos of two brilliant games Iain, although unfortunate results in both of them from your perspective!

  2. Great to see the Naps out in action, you can’t beat them 👍 we certainly enjoy V&F we do add one tweek (raising their tenacity by one) to encourage the french to advance in attack column otherwise we find they don’t really get enough advantage ?

    1. I guess theyre fighting British? In my games playing Austrian or French they dont generally need it to be honest!
